[Webcast] Choose Your Own Climate Future: Climate Simulator Workshop for Investors
August 3, 2022: 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm In Person
- This event has passed.
The urgency to act on climate change is real and widely recognized. Governments, investors, and companies are pursuing “Net Zero” strategies, scrutinized through mandatory disclosure. Yet there remains a significant policy and technological uncertainty. Among the huge variety of technologies, business strategies, and public policies to support decarbonization, which will prevail and make a real difference? What are the physical and transition risks of the associated scenarios for investors? What investor actions move the needle for those who want to make an impact?
Amid this uncertainty, climate action is also a challenge to climate conversation. In this workshop, we upgrade the conversation about climate change, using a simulation tool grounded in the best available science and used by top policymakers and business leaders worldwide. En-ROADS (Energy Rapid Overview and Decision Support) is a transparent, freely-available policy simulation model developed by Climate Interactive, Ventana Systems, and MIT Sloan.
En-ROADS allows people to choose which policy and technology levers to pull and see the climate results for themselves in real-time.
This 1-hour workshop over Zoom will allow participants to engage in interactive “policy testing” to explore pathways to a safer climate future and consider the investor risks and opportunities at every step.
