CFAW hosts events throughout the year as a way for members to connect in an inspiring environment. Meet colleagues, stay informed, and learn practical skills and tools to help you and your organization thrive.

Types of Events

Career

The Society routinely hosts mentoring sessions, career fairs, and seminars focused on topics such as salary negotiation, resume writing, and interview preparation.

Conference

CFAW's large-scale events attract interest from professionals across the globe, such as the ESG Summit, the Future of Asset Management Regulation and the Annual Dinner, our largest signature event and can’t-miss networking opportunity for investment professionals.

Member-Organized

Current members are welcome to host their own event and have CFAW market it. This is a great way to network, share something you are passionate about with others, or just have fun. These events can be professional or social. Examples include topical brown bag lunches, happy hours, exam study groups, and book clubs.

Networking

Programs & Education

The Society hosts dozens of programs each year that cover a specific investment topic or analyze current events driving market volatility. These programs sharpen the knowledge of our members, who represent a broad range of firms, market sectors, and regulatory organizations.

Social

There are networking opportunities at all CFAW events, however, we host a number of events exclusively dedicated to building your network and maintaining existing relationships. These include happy hours across the DC area, the annual Member’s Reception each fall, and the winter Holiday Party.

Training

The Society partners with industry leading professional training firms to offer one, two, and 3-day training courses to start new employees off on the right foot, broaden the skills of experienced professionals, or keep senior executives appraised of new methods and technology.

Become a CFAW Speaker

We are always looking for dynamic speakers to offer solution-oriented expertise on issues facing investment management proessionals and leaders.

CFAW members are not guaranteed a speaking slot, however preference is given to CFAW members over non-members and CFA charterholders over non-charterholders when selecting presenters.

Host a Member-Organized Event
